EPS was formed in 1983

The newly formed Enniskillen Photographic Society first met in March 1983 int he Ardhowen Theatre. The constitution and rules stated their aim was to be the instruction, amusement and education in photographic work by the following means:

"The holding of periodical meetings to facilitate the practice of the technique of photography through lectures and discussions, holding compeitiions, demonstrations and lecturese, and organising photographic exhibitions."

The Officers were elected as follows:

Chairman: Mr George Balfour

Secretary: Mr Tom McDaniel

Treasurer: Miss Pauline Moohan

Committee: Messrs S. Nethercott, D. Armstrong, P. Lunny, A. Bruce, H. Weir, T. McGettigan, S. Faulkner, N. Armstrong and Miss S Lynn.


First Speaker

The first speaker was Bill McCrum (Lurgan), a member of the Northern Ireland Photographic Association and a photographic club member for many years. He gave a lecture on the running of a club. The meeting was open to everyone interested in photography, "whether they own an old Box Brownie or the latested Hasselblad.
